Thanks for stopping by to read about me!
My name is Jen and there are some things I would like you to know about me as you are deciding on a therapist to support your healing journey.
My approach to therapy is best described as a "radically genuine" and education-based approach. What this means is that you will get a skilled professional that loves to learn and share knowledge with their clients, and you will also get a human who will talk about how they apply research-backed concepts and skills to their own life.
I bring lived experience, passion, and hope into the therapy room. I also bring humbleness and openness as I treat the clients that work with me as the experts of their lives and am open to feedback when I mess up.
I rely heavily on visualizations as a way to teach my clients (Ex: using a whiteboard), and I will encourage all of my clients to experience therapy through all of our senses (sight, sound, smell, touch, taste, movement/body based work).
About me as a human:
I would be a good fit as a therapist if you LOVE animals. I have a zoo of my own at home; 2 dogs, and 3 cats and often rely on my dogs to help me give examples to clients of how I practice mindfulness. I would also be a good fit if you are open to having a gender diverse and neurodiverse therapist support you on your healing journey. I most enjoy rock concerts with my spouse, splitting my time between all of my 5 fur children, or engaging with
books/movies/having game nights with family and friends.
