Caroline BarrettSmart, MSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Hi! I’m Caroline – I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, an introvert, a yogini, a nerd, a someone who has a four-legged friend – and I’m a human whose humanness might be similar to your own.

What about you? How do you feel about yourself? Are you carrying around a lot inside, stuff that you don’t quite feel safe sharing with others, even those closest to you? Do you sometimes put others’ needs before your own, and then feel defeated? Is your body giving you distress signals? I know mine does -- and through my own healing journey, I have developed a passion for strengthening the body and mind connection. One of the most valuable tools I have found for this is called Somatic Experiencing, which I am currently a student of and in the intermediate year. Part of this practice is learning how to create your own inner safe space, which we can explore if you choose.

I bring a trauma informed and holistic wellness perspective into the therapy space. By being grounded, present, playful, curious, and collaborative, I aim to provide a safe space for inner healing and growth and welcome whatever shows up (anxiety, depression, addiction, shame, dis-ease) and to simply be with what is.

It is in making room for feelings, conflicts, dilemmas, questions, and uncertainties that healing can occur -- and this calls for a personalized approach. I weave a variety of approaches into sessions including mindfulness, movement, Somatic Experiencing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and more.

If you’re open to exploring what it might feel like to be lighter, more relieved, supported, hopeful, and maybe more at ease, then you’re in the right place.

You get to decide what comes next, and if you’d like to connect, I’ll be here to welcome you right in.

Compensation

I accept Cigna, Aetna, UHC, Medicare, Medicaid, Ambetter and HSH insurance, self-pay and can provide superbills.
