Welcome!!  I am so glad you are here.

My name is Hayley Menges, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and I work with children (6+), teens and adults.  

I have certification as an Autplay therapy provider and in Trauma-focused CBT.  I have had the privilege of working closely for many years with autistic children, teens, young adults and their families.  I also work with individuals with ADHD, chronic illness, those navigating grief and grappling with stress, anxiety and perfectionism.  I am also a former school-based therapist and have an understanding of aspects within the school setting and strategies to support diverse learning needs.

Connection and the therapeutic relationship is one of the greatest predictors of progress in therapy.  My approach is strongly rooted in connection, empathy, understanding and acceptance.   I value a person-centered, strengths-based, creative and playful approach in which we utilize tailored interventions to meet each person's unique needs and affirm their identity and experiences.  Personal growth and healing can take time, so I am a good fit for those who understand that therapy can be more of a marathon than a sprint. 

One of my priorities as a therapist is understanding how each person communicates best. I recognize that words aren't always the easiest—or most accurate—way to express our thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Together, we can use various forms of expression (books, music, play, movement, art, TV shows, movies, memes, etc.) to better understand your experiences, build insight, and communicate in ways that feel authentic and meaningful.  

My hope is to create a warm, supportive and sensory-friendly environment where people feel safe to express themselves.  Through various approaches, I hope to empower others to explore self-expression, develop emotion-regulation strategies, build self-awareness and self-compassion, develop coping techniques that work for them, and cultivate skills essential for navigating the complexities of life.

I accept Cigna, Aetna, UHC, Medicare, Medicaid, Ambetter and HSH insurance. I also offer self-pay and can provide superbills.
